The bioluminescence kayak only runs on dark-moon nights and sells out — reserve it today and shape the week around the night it confirms. The Crystal Caves require pre-booking and fill up close to the date. Everything else can wait a little.
Tap + Add on any plan to lock it in. Picks save to everyone’s phones, live — so the whole party stays on the same page about what you’re actually doing.
You land at Owen Roberts (GCM) around 4pm Thursday. After customs and grabbing the rental car it’s ~15 min to the Seafire, so today is settle-in only — unpack, decompress on the sand, then a sunset dinner. (Cayman keeps the same clock as Austin in June, so there’s no time change to fight.)
On Seven Mile Beach, sunset tables, polished but relaxed, great non-alcoholic options for everyone. Sunset beach tables are limited.
Calmest seas in the morning; small boat, beat the cruise crowds. Stand-up-in-the-water, no swimming required — ideal for everyone.
A window to branch off while the parents rest. Snorkel-friendly, better on a discover-scuba dive. Booked via Red Sail Sports — handy, since their dive desk is right on the Seafire property.
Top Italian, oceanfront terrace, serious wine list.
The island's best craft cocktails (open Friday late). Slip off after dinner while the parents head back.
Hammocks and calm shallow water. Order the virgin mudslide.
Wade ankle-deep for starfish, a few minutes from Rum Point. Go early for parking.
Tables on the sand, right between the two beaches.
Launches from Cayman Kai, next to Rum Point. Departures 7:20 & 9:20pm. Book the operator's recommended night (a bright moon kills the glow) and add their driver service.
Sunday’s the easy day — the big outings are Friday & Saturday, so keep this one close. Cemetery Beach, at the quiet north end of Seven Mile Beach, has the best shore snorkeling on the strip: a healthy reef about 60 yards out, calm water, sea-grape shade and rarely a crowd. Grab the Seafire’s complimentary snorkel gear on the way.
A wide, calm public stretch of Seven Mile Beach with easy parking, soft sand and a reef close enough to snorkel from shore — an effortless swim-and-laze morning. If anyone would rather have one proper outing, the east-end drive below (gardens, caves, Pedro) is the bigger option.
Flat, easy paths and wild blue iguanas. Tickets at the gate. Bring bug spray.
Cool, guided, minutes from the park. Must be able to climb stairs unassisted — reconsider if that's tough for either parent.
Restored historic great house on a bluff with ocean views, on the way back.
Sunday’s the loose day — while whoever wants the east-end drive heads out, Mom and the girls book a half-day at The Spa at Seafire: massages or facials, the relaxation lounge, jacuzzi, cold plunge, steam room and the island’s only hammam. Reserve treatments ahead — weekend slots go first.
Plant the day on the sand: reserve a beachfront cabana or daybed at the Seafire — shade, plush loungers, unobstructed Seven Mile Beach views and beach-bar service, so the parents always have somewhere comfortable out of the sun. They’re limited and sell out daily, so book ahead (poolside cabanas too).
Grand Old House and Next Door are both closed Sundays, so two easy picks: Luca (the contemporary Italian on Seven Mile Beach — open Sundays) or staying in at the Seafire, whose restaurants are Ave (Mediterranean), Avecita (Spanish tapas) and Coccoloba (beachside Mexican).
Your flight’s at 4pm Monday, so plan to leave the Seafire by ~1:30–2pm (be at the airport ~2 hours ahead for an international departure). That leaves the morning for a last beach walk and breakfast, then coffee & gelato at Camana Bay — 5 min from the hotel and on the way to the airport. Drop the rental car back at Owen Roberts (or have the agency collect it). Departure tax is usually included in the airfare.
Right on the beach side. The main Seafire pool has an all-day bar (Nana Cabana) for cocktails, ceviche & light bites.
Massages, facials, relaxation lounge, jacuzzi, cold plunge, steam room and the island’s only hammam — see the Sunday girls’ spa plan. Book via iDayPass, the spa desk or concierge.
1,770 sq ft — treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and weights, plus yoga mats & balance balls.
The on-property dive & watersports desk — and the same crew that runs your Stingray & Kittiwake trips. Complimentary kayaks, paddleboards & snorkel gear (resort fee); paid scuba, sailing & banana-boat rides. Red Sail at Seafire →
Borrow a cruiser at no charge — an easy ride to Camana Bay (~5 min) along the path.
On-site kids’ program with themed games — there if anyone brings little ones.
One number for dining reservations, the spa, cabanas, bikes, water sports and airport transfers. Room service is available — dial the front desk from your room. Dining can also be booked at restaurantreservations@seafireresortandspa.com.
The brand’s signatures — an evening social hour, morning coffee & tea, loaner cruiser bikes, and a famously pet-friendly policy (no fees).
A rental car is the move — you’ll want one for the northeast and east-end days. Pick it up at Owen Roberts (GCM) on arrival (desks are at/across from arrivals, ~15 min from the Seafire), or have it delivered free to the hotel. Good local option: Andy’s Rent-A-Car (+1 345-949-8111) — airport desk plus a Seven Mile Beach office near the hotel; the big chains (Hertz, Budget, Avis, Dollar) and NextCar & Firefly are at the airport too. Andy’s locations → · airport rentals map →
Uber and Lyft are banned, but short hops are easy. Taxis are fixed-fare by zone (agree it first, usually cash) and the front desk will call one. The government CI:GO app (cigo.ky) books a licensed taxi at a set fare; Island: GO! (islandgo.app) is a local rideshare; and public minibuses run the Seven Mile Beach road by day. Cars are scarce around Rum Point after dark, so drive yourself on the far-flung evenings.
Police, fire and ambulance island-wide. Cayman is rated very safe (US State Dept Level 1).
Cayman dollar pegged at CI$1 = US$1.25. US dollars accepted everywhere; change often given in CI$. Bring small bills.
A visitor’s driving permit (≈ CI$16) is required — the rental agency issues it on the spot with your license + passport. Roads are well-paved and easy along Seven Mile Beach and the main highways, just keep left. Expect British-style roundabouts (yield to traffic already in the circle / coming from your right) and narrower two-lane stretches out to the east end and north side. Watch for the odd pothole, sudden tropical downpours, and the occasional chicken or iguana crossing. Mileages are short — nothing on the island is much over an hour away.
Most restaurants add a 10–15% service charge — check the bill before tipping again. Taxis: 10–15%.
120V, Type A/B outlets — no adapter or converter needed for US devices.
In June, the same time as Austin — no clock change to manage.
US citizens need a valid passport and proof of onward/return travel; no pre-arrival authorization for tourism. Note: firearms, ammunition and anything that fires a projectile (incl. spear guns) are prohibited without a police-issued import permit. See the official requirements.
